Anheuser-Busch Names New Marketing Exec

5/11/2011
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Beer maker Anheuser-Busch, the U.S. subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, has named Paul Chibe to lead its marketing in the U.S.

Chibe worked most recently as vice president and general manager of the U.S. gum and mints business at Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co., the company said.

Anheuser-Busch said Chibe will assume his new position June 1.
Keith Levy, the company's former vice president of U.S. marketing -Busch, left in January to "pursue other opportunities." He had been with the company since 1987 and helped lead the marketing division through the 2008 merger of Anheuser-Busch and InBev, which made the company the world's largest brewer by sales.

The marketing role has since been held on an interim basis by Frank Abenante, global vice president of brands and insights at the global company. Abenante will continue to work with U.S. commercial division head Dave Peacock and the group until Chibe's transition is completed.

Anheuser-Busch, based in St. Louis, is the leading American brewer with brands such as Budweiser and Bud Light.

Anheuser-Busch InBev NV and many competitors saw beer sales volumes decline in the U.S., Canada and Western Europe during the recession.
