Circuit City Suppliers Leverage e-Commerce Network for Supply Chain Visibility

February 7, 2007 - As part of Circuit City Stores Inc.'s plans to increase B2B e-commerce penetration and visibility into its base of small and medium-sized business suppliers, the company recently chose the GXS Trading Grid, a global B2B e-commerce and integration platform.

"Providing all of our vendors with an easy to use, complete document set resource will greatly enhance the supply chain efficiency for information exchange and transportation management," says Victor Engesser, vice president of vendor relations at Circuit City. "Having complete visibility of inbound product through EDI and Intelligent Web Forms combined will improve our logistics effectiveness and productivity."

Circuit City suppliers that do not currently have sophisticated B2B e-commerce infrastructures can now leverage GXS Intelligent Web Forms, a Trading Grid service,  that enables trading partners to trade electronically by simply filling out fields in a customized web-form. With GXS Intelligent Web Forms, businesses with an internet connection and a Web browser have the ability to electronically interface with Circuit City to view, create, manage and transmit electronic documents. By enabling these suppliers with a complete suite of electronic transactions, Circuit City expects to improve supply chain visibility and decrease time-consuming and costly manual processes.
