The board of directors has appointed George Harad as independent chair of the board, and Jeffrey Noddle as chair of the management development and compensation committee.

Hickory Harvest Foods, Akron, Ohio

The snack manufacturer has hired Eric McGrath as director of operations and Joe Fischer as Northeast regional sales manager.

Kellogg Co., Battle Creek, Michigan

Christopher Smolnicky has been hired as a senior manager, shopper marketing.

Weiman Products, Gurnee, Illinois

Chris Bauder, formerly of SC Johnson and Beam Suntory, has been appointed chief executive officer for the manufacturer of surface care and surgical instrument cleaning products.

Retailers

Ahold USA, Carlisle, Pennsylvania

The grocery chain has made a round of executive changes that include senior vice president of store strategy and execution Nick Bertram’s move to SVP of merchandising strategy and support. Dean Wilkinson, current vice president of sales and marketing for Giant-Landover, will succeed Bertram.

Other changes include senior vice president of merchandising services and support Marissa Nelson’s move to SVP of responsible retailing and healthy living to lead an expanded focus on healthy living across Ahold USA’s companies. Mark McGowan is moving into a dual role of executive vice president of operations for the company and president of the grocer’s Stop & Shop New England division. Don Sussman, who led the New England division as president on an interim basis, will return to his role as president of the Stop & Shop New York Metro division.

Dollar General Corp., Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Chief operating officer Todd Vasos will succeed CEO Rick Dreiling, who will remain as senior adviser and chairman until his retirement in January 2016.

Men’s Wearhouse, Houston

Google and Bebe Stores veteran Ben Baum is the new chief digital officer in charge of all omnichannel initiatives.

Toys “R” Us, Wayne, New Jersey

David A. Brandon, widely credited with the reinvention of Domino’s Pizza, has been named to succeed retiring CEO Antonio Urcelay.
