Brand Marketers 

Foster Farms, Livingston, California

Laura Flanagan joined the company as president and chief executive officer. She succeeds Ron Foster, grandson of company founders Max and Verda Foster, who will remain a Foster Farms owner and member of the board of directors. Most recently, Flanagan served as president of the ConAgra Foods snacks division.

Free2b Foods, Boulder, Colorado

The company named Mike Murray chief executive officer. In the past, Murray has served as senior brand manager at General Mills and vice president of marketing and research and development at So Delicious Dairy Free, which was sold to WhiteWave Foods in 2014.

Mondelez International, East Hanover, New Jersey

B. Bonin Bough left the company to host CNBC’s “Cleveland Hustles” with National Basketball Association star LeBron James. He was most recently Mondelez International’s chief media and e-commerce officer.

Retailers

Barnes & Noble, New York

Ronald D. Boire left the company after less than a year as its chief executive officer. The board of directors said that Boire “was not a good fit for the organization and that it was in the best interests of all parties for him to leave the company,” according to a media release. Executive chairman Leonard Riggio, who was scheduled to retire on Sept. 14, postponed his retirement and assumed Boire’s responsibilities. The retailer is searching for a new CEO.

Macy’s, Cincinnati

Richard A. Lennox was named the retailer’s chief marketing officer. In his new role, Lennox will be responsible for the company’s omnichannel market presence and strategy including brand, promotional, store, digital and events marketing activity. Before joining Macy’s, Lennox served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Toys“R”Us since 2014.

The Michaels Companies, Irving, Texas

Denise Paulonis was promoted to executive vice president – chief financial officer. She succeeds Chuck Sonsteby, who will continue to serve as vice chairman and retain executive responsibility for the growth and integration of Lamrite West and the management of Aaron Brothers stores.

Office Depot, Boca Raton, Florida

Roland Smith will retire as chief executive officer of the company. Smith will continue to serve as CEO until a successor is named, which is expected by the end of first quarter 2017. The board of directors, with the assistance of an executive search firm, will consider both internal and external candidates for Smith’s position.

Tilly’s, Irvine, California

The company appointed Jon Kubo to the newly created position of chief digital officer. Kubo is responsible for overseeing e-commerce and digital marketing to define a long-term vision for the company’s digital commerce efforts and create consistency in digital consumer experiences across all interaction points.
