Deloitte CMO Survey: Analytics Spending to Quadruple in Three Years

12/13/2017

Marketers plan to nearly quadruple spending on analytics to improve the customer experience in the next three years, according to the latest Deloitte CMO Survey.

According to the biannual report, marketers will boost customer-focused analytics spending by 376% over the next three years. The hike will increase analytics' share of the marketing budget from about 5.0% to just under 22.0%.

The massive spending hike is apparently justified: One-third of marketers say they lack the process and/or tools needed to measure success through analytics.

The Deloitte CMO Survey has been conducted biannually since 2008 by Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. The report canvasses more than 2,800 chief marketing officers across a variety of industries, including business-to-consumer and business-to-business enterprises.

An executive summary of the report's six key findings is attached below. For more information, visit Deloitte Experience Services.
