An Exciting Year

12/15/2011
We are so tired of writing about the recession... I mean, you can only write “in the face of an economic downturn” and “due to waning consumer loyalty” so many times before readers become desensitized and uninterested. So it’s a good thing that we had a lot more to talk about in 2010/2011. Yes, the recession still served as a backdrop, but consumer goods companies pushed forward with growth strategies, demergers, acquisitions, and exciting new business initiatives. This made room for much more exciting headlines, like “Kraft Foods to Split into Two Companies“ or “Walmart Shares POS Data with Nielsen”. The results of CGT’s annual Consumer Goods Registry remind us that, while we are still operating in an uncertain economy, we are not sitting ducks. We hope you enjoy looking back at the top news stories that shook things up the industry. We certainly did.
