Ferrero Picks SAP Ariba for Procurement Help
The Ferrero Group, the world’s third-largest chocolate manufacturer, will implement SAP Ariba software to help manage costs and risk throughout the procurement process.
“For years, we tackled procurement using different systems and applications,” said Jane Scott, Ferrero's chief information officer. “We are sure that now, through an integrated platform on which we can consolidate all of our spend and collaborate with a global network of partners on everything from sourcing and orders through invoicing and payment, we will better achieve our goals.”
By connecting to the Ariba Network, Ferraro will use a range of cloud-based applications to fuel a comprehensive source-to-settle process. Among the solutions that Ferrero will use are strategic sourcing, supplier risk, spend analysis, buying and invoicing, commerce automation and supply chain collaboration,
Calls for tighter regulation and growing demand for organic alternatives worldwide have made food production a more complex business than ever, the companies said in a release announcing the deployment.
“Procurement isn’t a discreet function that can be performed in silos. To do it well requires an integrated, digital approach,” said Paul Devlin, general manager of SAP Ariba, EMEA and MEE.
