Genesco Boosts Inventory Management
Apparel purveyor Genesco Inc. recently upgraded its foundational inventory management platform to the newest version of Jesta I.S. Inc.'s flagship enterprise resource planning system.
The retailer/wholesaler initially deployed Jesta's "Vision Merchandising" system in 1998, when it was operating fewer than 500 stores. Genesco now operates more than 1,300 stores across various retail banners including Journeys, Lids, Johnston & Murphy and the recently acquired Little Burgundy chain.
“Through this upgrade, we continue to rely on Jesta I.S as our trusted business technology partner and advisor,” adds Rik Reitmaier, Genesco's chief information officer.
"I’m happy to say that the upgrade was carried out successfully and I am looking forward to Genesco’s merchants leveraging the new and innovative inventory management capabilities available,” said Arvind Gupta, Jesta's chief operating officer.
Genesco uses the application to manage all core merchandising functions for apparel and footwear across most retail banners. The new release is designed to improve inventory and service planning and minimize out-of-stocks. It also makes room for future growth through holistic image management capabilities, among other features.
