2/19/2010

The word innovation has taken on a whole new meaning for me this year! As a brand new mom, I am admittedly obsessed with finding the latest and greatest new baby products. Yet, I find myself still needing more! How about a pacifier that doesn't fall out of a baby's mouth every five seconds or a bouncer seat that -- get this -- bounces by itself?!

My point is this: even with the hundreds of new products introduced each year, there is always a consumer need for more, more, more!

The digital pages that follow tell stories of how certain CG companies are meeting an endless supply of consumer wants and needs with innovation.

In the cover story, Bionic Gloves, a part of Hillerich & Bradsby Co. (aka the manufacturer of the legendary Louisville Slugger baseball bats) shares how it literally changed the game of golf with its patented anatomical and ergonomic glove design. Because there is nothing else like it in the market today, Bionic glove technology has taken golf, fitness, baseball and even gardening by storm. In addition, P&G shares a unique story of innovation on the manufacturing plant floor. CGT also dives into the world of social new product development with an exclusive story about Quirky.com, a group think tank of sorts that has developed some great new products for the consumer market. Plus, Sugar Foods reveals how it gained greater visibility throughout the product lifecycle.

This issue also includes our annual Consultant Outlook Report in which analysts voice opinions on key topics in the CG industry.
