Oracle Completes Acquisition of Sun
On April 20, 2009 Sun Microsystems and Oracle Corporation announced that they had entered into a definitive agreement under which Oracle would acquire Sun common stock for $9.50 per share in cash. The transaction was valued at approximately $7.4 billion, or $5.6 billion net of Sun's cash and debt.
Today, Oracle Corporation completes its acquisition of Sun Microsystems Inc. Combination of the local entities worldwide will proceed in accordance with local laws.
Oracle will host an all-day live event, which also will be webcast for customers, partners, press and analysts on Jan. 27, 2010 at 9:00 AM Pacific time, at its headquarters in Redwood Shores, Calif.
