Pepsico Consolidates Global Technology Infrastructure

PepsiCo Inc. signs a seven-year global services agreement with Hewlett-Packard (HP) to provide data center management services and infrastructure consolidation for the company's PepsiCo International division. Under the deal, HP will consolidate PepsiCo International's technology infrastructure into three HP data centers located in Mexico, Singapore and the United Kingdom. These data centers will support PepsiCo business operations in more than 60 countries outside the United States and Canada. This initiative will migrate PepsiCo International to a standardized storage and server architecture that provides capability upgrades in the areas of application management, network security, disaster recovery, asset management and operations support. HP will use a variety of storage and server systems, tools and software to manage PepsiCo International's new data center environment. In addition, PepsiCo International signs a deal with telecommunications company BT Americas, a unit of BT Group PLC, to manage the division's local and wide area network infrastructure across more than 900 locations in more than 60 countries.
