Pop-Tarts Gets Creative
Pop-Tarts, the Kellogg Company brand, sprinkled fun and excitement throughout the streets of Pittsburgh with the delivery of 1 million toaster pastries to Pop-Tarts Pop It Forward Contest winner Tyler Kozar at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Students and faculty gathered to help unload the Pop-Tarts branded 18-wheeler truck that carried the supplies through the heart of the city.
"From the frosting, sprinkles and delicious flavors to its colorful packaging and one-of-a-kind imagery, the Pop-Tarts brand has always been about fun," says Zena Arnold Pop-Tarts senior brand manager. "We are thrilled to bring fun and excitement here to Pittsburgh with today's delivery - and also we are very excited to see the grand prize idea from our Pop-Tarts Pop It Forward Contest come to life."
The Pop It Forward Contest was a national search for fun and creative ideas for sharing one million Pop-Tarts toaster pastries. Kozar won the online vote for his idea to create over-the top works of pop-art from Pop-Tarts boxes, wrappers and even the pastries themselves.
In early April, Kozar will host an exhibition of his Pop-Tart-inspired creations at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Gallery. Each piece will be based on Kozar's vision and creativity. He plans to create an assortment of Pittsburgh inspired artwork to share and showcase. The artwork will include a mixture of art ranging from 3D exhibits to life-size sculptures, fun framed pieces, and even a dress made out of the Pop-Tarts signature foil.
