The Same Old Story
Last month, I broke out the first-ever issue of CGT. Published in September of 1992, the cover story headline of Consumer Goods Manufacturer magazine (as it was then called) read something like: “What Are Retailers Saying About You?” I couldn’t help but laugh out loud because 22 years later, aren’t we still seeking the answer to that exact question? But we’re getting closer thanks to advances in technology, processes and collaboration. Our Readers’ Choice Survey, in its 14th year, continues to document changes in the industry over the years. I can’t wait to look back at this issue two decades from now and see if perhaps we’ve finally found an answer to the question on CGT’s very first cover.
