Samsung Optimizes Transportation

In order to save on transport costs, Samsung will use Informore, a company that specializes in transport management services for large carriers. Informore recently selected the load optimization solution ORTEC Loaddesigner, which will initially be used to increase the load factor at Samsung. The systems of Informore and Samsung are connected to the Atos Origin data center by means of a central hub. Orders for clients in Europe are sent to Informore's systems by Samsung's SAP system via this interface. Informore then checks when and where an order must be delivered. Based on this information, and existing contracts between Samsung and its logistic service providers, Informore selects a carrier, at which stage the optimum load is calculated using ORTEC Loaddesigner.
