Square One Organic Spirits is expanding its retail footprint through a pair of new partnerships.

The spirits and cocktail brand inked non-alcoholic beverage distribution agreements with United National Foods (UNFI) and KeHE Distributors.

UNFI is a distributor of natural, organic and specialty products in the United States, while KeHF distributes natural, organic, specialty and fresh products to specialty grocers and retailers.

Founded in 2006, Square One makes flavor-infused vodkas using organic fruits, flowers, spices, vegetables and herbs that are geared toward consumers with eco-conscious mindsets. It launched a line of certified organic mixers in 2019 and entered certified organic canned cocktails last year.

The Charlottesville, VA-based company places sustainability at the core of its operations, with efforts extending to the use of soy inks, FSC-certified and carbon neutral face labels and wind-power at its distillery.

"Back in the early 2000s, artificial ingredients, added sugar and preservatives were all the rage in spirits as the race to launch flavors filled the back bar," said Allison Evanow, founder and CEO of Square One Organic Spirits, in a statement. "At the same time, those same restaurants serving those artificial cocktails were featuring menus driven by the farm-to-table philosophy — talk about a disconnect! I knew there was an opportunity, and I decided to fill it."
