Suncoast Beverage Sales Ltd. of Fort Myers, Fla. implements Dematic's PickDirector Warehouse Control Software to support warehouse operations. Suncoast is an Anheuser-Busch affiliated distributor and one of the largest wholesalers in the southeast United States. The company distributes to restaurants, bars, grocery stores, warehouse clubs and convenience stores in the Fort Myers area of southwest Florida.
Frank Brown, president of Suncoast Beverage, says, "The Dematic team has a high level of system knowledge and quickly trained us on the management and operation of the system. This allowed us to put the solution in easily, and take ownership and train our warehouse employees quickly. In our first week of operation, we saw more than a 20 percent increase in productivity by half of our staff members. Obviously, our warehouse staff adapted to the operational changes very quickly."
The company selects Dematic's PickDirector software suite for voice-based control of Suncoast's picking, replenishment, quality assurance, manifesting and truck loading. The Dematic solution replaced a paper-based system that required manual validation of orders, billing and inventory as well as frequent interventions to the order process due to inventory discrepancies and billing exceptions.
