Visions of Grandeur

6/1/2005

This year's crop of Consumer Goods Visionaries (formerly known as the 25 Most Influential) reflects the rapidly changing dynamic of the supplier/retailer relationship. Sales, marketing and category management titles are more prevalent than in prior editions and the vision statements made by many execs echo concerns of making sense of complex data in order to meet the needs of customers. In short, this is one illustrious group that is leading the charge toward the Demand Driven Supply Network.

Sprinkled throughout the Visionaries section are "Rising Stars"-- executives that might not have C-level years under their belts -- but are making industry waves nonetheless. Complementing this year's list is the "Retail Roundup", a look at the current movers and shakers of the retail industry.

"The 2005 Sales & Marketing Report" (Page 21) is a first of its kind study created in conjunction with AMR Research. By cutting right to the heart of today's sales and marketing pain points -- and asking today's top consumer goods firms for their feedback -- a truly eye-opening piece of research was born. Expert commentary, case studies and key takeaways make the Sales & Marketing Report a must-read for anyone interested in finding out where vital opportunities exist to gain competitive advantage.

Speaking of gaining competitive advantage, immediately following the Sales & Marketing Report is a section devoted to "Thought Leadership Perspectives" (Page 56). Within this section, get the inside scoop from today's top tech and consulting firms on virtually every type of industry challenge under the sun. The best practice tips and insights they provide, not to mention the statements made by the Visionaries, are truly thought-provoking and will hopefully inspire visions of grandeur at your organization.
