Walmart to Reveal New Sustainability Commitments

Walmart will announce its strengthened and expanded commitments to the company’s global sustainability supply chain on October 25 in Beijing, China. It will also give an update on its progress on global commitments announced at the 2008 Beijing Sustainability Summit.

In attendance will be Walmart executives,U.S. and Chinese government officials, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and Walmart associates, including Mike Duke, president and CEO, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Greg Foran, President and CEO, Walmart China, Gary Locke, U.S. Ambassador to China, Li Jun Fung, director, General National Climate Change Strategy Research, NDRC, and Kara Hurst, CEO, The Sustainability Consortium.
 
During the meeting, Duke will share updates on Walmart's progress and continued commitment to sustainable global sourcing, including new commitments for the Sustainability Index and the next phase of growth for The Sustainable Consortium.
