2010 Top 100: Toys and Games
4. Electronic Arts Inc.
Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) can attribute a portion of its growth to its effective use of social media. In November 2009, the company acquired Playfish, a creator of social network games, which accelerated EA's position in social entertainment and strengthened its focus on digital and social gaming. A few months earlier, EA Mobile signed a distribution deal with Namco Bandai Networks Europe, making its games available to a whole new audience. Other efforts include using Twitter for contests and launching its first game using the Facebook platform.
