About Face

Even though the modern-day facelift is a last-ditch effort in the never-ending quest to remain youthful, the principles behind the facelift make perfect sense: Years of unwanted matter are systematically removed with razor-sharp precision to produce a bold creation that says: "Out with the old, in with the new."

Turn the page, and you'll soon notice that Consumer Goods Technology has undergone a sizeable facelift, one to make Dick Clark blush. But where an aging celebrity might take a few, ahem, liberties to remain relevant, Consumer Goods Technology has taken a slightly different approach. We've kept the good stuff intact and created new editorial and visual enhancements to remain one step ahead.

The Benchmarks section, for instance, is now home to three completely re-vamped pages:

"The Pulse", which details the latest mergers, product launches and implementations, now includes poll results from Consumergoods.com. A new poll is posted every two weeks, so please be sure to participate and also check out how our Research Advisory Board interprets the poll results every month.

"Insights", which grew out of the ashes of "Analyst News", will include vital point-of-sale data and research from the likes of AC Nielsen. This is definitely a go-to spot to see who will make headlines and to gain the in side track on current, customer behavior.

"Special Report" will host the magazine's unique perspective on hot-button topics and trends that we see on the horizon. Ultimately, the "Special Report" page will serve as a critical "heads up" source for the industry.

The six "Inside" feature pages have also received extreme makeovers. The in-depth, case-study coverage remains intact but each page is now easily identified and color-coded. This permanent enhancement will make it much easier to navigate the pages of the magazine.

The new look of Consumer Goods Technology is the culmination of many thoughts and talents, two of which I'd like to mention right now: Art Director, Trinidad "Tina" Pena and Creative Director Colette Magliaro. Together, they have miraculously transformed a pile of ideas into something exciting, fresh and leading-edge while adhering closely to the publication's roots. I applaud their fine efforts.
