3/29/2013
Agenda for Leading Consumer Goods Industry Conference also Features Unilever, Mondelez, Paramount Farms, L’Oreal, Applegate and More

New York Times bestselling author Gary Vaynerchuk will deliver the keynote address at the 2013 Consumer Goods Sales & Marketing Summit, June 3-5, 2013 in New York City.

With close to one million Twitter followers, Vaynerchuk is known as a true social media trailblazer, and was included in BusinessWeek’s list of the top 20 people every entrepreneur should follow. His first business book, “Crush It! Why Now Is the Time to Cash in on Your Passion”, hit the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Associated Press bestsellers lists in its first weeks. His second New York Times bestseller, “The Thank You Economy”, details the effect of social media on business and has become required reading for business leaders. In the spring of 2009, Vaynerchuk and his brother AJ launched VaynerMedia, a new breed of agency that helps Fortune 500 companies such as Campbell Soup Company, PepsiCo, Green Mountain Coffee, the NY Jets, the NHL and the NJ Nets find their social media voices and build their digital brands.

Vaynerchuk’s opening keynote presentation at the 2013 Consumer Goods Sales & Marketing Summit will focus on the need for consumer goods companies to adapt in the Internet era, where the empowerment of the common consumer has created a fundamental shift in how businesses are expected to behave. Key insights will be shared around the battle for the end consumer's attention; the digital and social impact on shopper marketing; and the changing relationship between retailers and consumer goods companies. In addition you will learn why non-working media isn’t as ugly as you think and how to scale the unscalable in social media.

"We are very excited to have Gary Vaynerchuk serve as our opening keynote speaker,” said CGT Publisher Albert Guffanti. “He is one of the most highly regarded experts on entrepreneurship, social media, emerging technologies and the new frontiers of customer services made possible by the Internet. I believe he has valuable experience and insights to share that will resonate within the consumer goods community."

The annual Consumer Goods Sales and Marketing Summit, produced by Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) magazine, provides senior-level consumer goods executives with a thought-leadership forum to network with peers, share ideas and experiences, and learn about important industry trends under this year’s event theme, "Datatopia: From Big Data to Meaningful Customer Dialogue".

Vaynerchuk leads a strong speaker lineup of industry thought leaders. Attendees will also hear from:

- Marc Seguin, Vice President of Marketing, Paramount Farms, on the company's social marketing "discipline"
- Hal Dally, Vice President of Information Technology, L'Oreal USA, on effective trade promotion management
- Frank Cotignola, CIM, Global Analytics and Digital Insights, Mondelez International, on how to use social insights predictively
- Rob O'Donnell, Vice President of Digital Media, Applegate, on digital social engagement
- Four Wall Street analysts from Citi Investment Research on which consumer goods companies are best building profitable brands and partnerships
- David Warschawski, CEO, WARSCHAWSKI, on the right and wrong uses of social media
- Kimberly Knickle, Practice Director, IDC Manufacturing Insights, on the findings from CGT's 2013 Sales & Marketing Report

Plus, in a closing keynote address, titled "The Journey to WOW Marketing", Marc Riccio, Esq., Senior Vice President, New York Jets LLC, will reveal how the football organization uses data touch points and social media to create a direct relationship with the consumer it didn’t have before. This new relationship has allowed the Jets to create consistent messaging linking brand loyalty with brand value, while driving a better consumer experience.
