Embracing Change

As I was playing telephone with my 3-year old, I said, “ring, ring,” and pretended to pick up the phone. He looked at me extremely confused and said, “What’s that?” At that moment it occurred to me that he had never experienced the sound of a landline telephone, only the sounds that came out of our familiar smartphones. Not to mention, any time my kids see a screen, they automatically start poking at it (assuming that it is a tablet). As much as I love talking about my kids, my point is this: The rate of change in just a few short years is staggering… and it’s not slowing down. As shown in our cover story this month, those companies that manage to keep up with the pace are going to remain at the top. In closing out my rookie year as Editor, I thank the CGT community for embracing this change.
