Former Nike exec Del Hudson has joined Higg Co as its new VP of marketing and communications.
Higg Co, which was spun out of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) last year, develops and hosts sustainability measurement tools, enabling companies to integrate measurable data directly into internal systems. Its goal is to unify sustainability measurement practices within consumer goods industries.
Hudson, who will be tasked with overseeing brand marketing, communications and stakeholder relations for Higg Co., has spent 20 years in communications and sustainability leadership roles in the U.S., U.K. and New Zealand. At Nike, she held various leadership roles in global communications and sustainable business innovation, where she was responsible for external partnerships, brand integration, sustainability reporting and ESG disclosure.

She was also head of the North American office for The Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
In a statement, Hudson said the COVID-19 crisis presents a pivotal moment to accelerate sustainability. "Businesses and governments need meaningful data now, more than ever, to inform decisions and rebuild global supply chains," she said. "Trust and product provenance are increasingly important, and companies are seeing that digitalization of supply chain data can accelerate sustainability, circularity and transparency, just as it has accelerated all other dimensions of commerce. I'm energized by Higg Co's opportunity to help business respond responsibly as we emerge from this crisis."
