Javier Polit Joins Mondelez International as CIO

Former P&G, Coca-Cola and Office Depot exec Javier Polit has been named CIO of Mondelez International, effective March 23.

Most recently CIO for Procter & Gamble, Polit will oversee the snack company’s global information technology solutions, reporting to executive vice president and chief financial officer Luca Zaramella.

The $26 billion company is No. 19 on the CGT Top 100 Consumer Goods Companies of 2019 list and is distributed in over 150 countries. It counts such brands as Oreo, Belvita, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka, Tolberone, Sour Patch Kids and Trident under its umbrella.

“We are very pleased to welcome Javier to Mondelēz International to lead our global team of IT professionals and help accelerate our enterprise-wide digital transformation,” said Zaramella in a statement. “He has a successful track record of leading large-scale IT transformations at global companies and extensive experience in managing all facets of strategic enterprise technology. I look forward to his contributions in leveraging technology to enable all three pillars of our long-term growth strategy.”

At P&G, Polit oversaw the company’s IT infrastructure and enterprise architecture, information security, innovation and data science, cloud strategy and application development.

Prior to P&G, he served as group CIO for the Bottling Investments Group and Coca-Cola North America at The Coca-Cola Company, overseeing all business, technology, cloud, digital and security solutions for the North America business and all company-owned bottling operations.

Polit, who also spent time at Office Depot at vice president of global corporate systems, currently serves on the board of directors of Girls Who Code and has served as national chairman of the Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association.
