Kimberly-Clark, Wal-Mart Partner with Mobile App

Just in time for this weekend's release of Disney Pixar's Cars 2 movie, Kimberly-Clark (K-C) announces that it will use CheckPoints LLC's mobile shopping app to help drive shoppers into Wal-Mart stores and engage them with its brands as part of an integrated commercial program linked to the upcoming release of Disney Pixar's Cars 2.
 
"Kimberly-Clark is using innovative marketing to engage shoppers with our brands and incentivize them to add more K-C products to their shopping baskets," says Richard Moulton, director of Shopper Marketing at Kimberly-Clark. "CheckPoints' mobile shopping app offers us an easy way to reach consumers on the go, encourage them to check out the Cars 2 promotion this summer, and stock up on our leading brands at Walmart. We will offer interesting content, fun games and premium Cars 2 rewards right in the palms of their hands."
 
The mobile app is expected to make it easy for Walmart shoppers to learn about the promotions featured on specially marked K-C products and claim Cars 2 points good toward merchandise rewards selected from the promotion's Cars 2 catalog.
 
When a shopper enters a Walmart location and "checks in" via CheckPoints' app, they are directed to find Kimberly-Clark products carrying Cars 2 promotional stickers, which include Kleenex facial tissue, Pull-Ups training pants, Viva paper towels, Scott paper towels, Cottonelle bath tissue and Huggies diapers and wipes. After scanning the package barcode with their smart phones, shoppers immediately learn of available Cars 2 premium rewards.
 
The more Kimberly-Clark products shoppers buy the more credits they can redeem for premium Cars 2 items, such as die-cast Cars 2 vehicles or Cars 2 movie tickets. The more products purchased, the higher the rewards.
