La Tortilla Factory Lauded for 'Vision, Determination'

La Tortilla Factory, amaker of heart-healthy tortillas and other specialty baked goods, has beenrecognized by Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) magazine as a standout SMB companyfor demonstrating the vision and determination needed to deliver exponentialgrowth and innovative product offerings.

In a special editorialsection within CGT'sSeptember issue, La Tortilla Factory was acknowledged for gaining greateroperational efficiencies through the restructuring of its executive team,including the promotion of Stan Mead from CFO to CEO. Mead's new assignmentfrees second-generation owners Carlos and Willie Tamayo to pursue globalopportunities to promote the La Tortilla Factory brand of great-tasting andhealthy products.

"We now have theright people in the right positions to carry the Tamayo family legacy planforward, as we continue to reach new heights in the global marketplace,"Mead says.

As CFO, Mead led LaTortilla Factory's implementation of DEACOM, an integrated accounting andEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software system for the food manufacturingindustry. Mead says DEACOM has helped the company expand the distribution ofits products to the national and global markets through improved purchasingpractices, inventory management, and overall data accessibility.
