Julia Brown has joined Mars Wrigley as chief procurement officer, a new title for the Mars Inc. business segment.

Brown will lead the consumer goods company’s global procurement strategy, overseeing its relationships with the supplier community to improve supplier diversity, as well as develop its connected and sustainable treating and snacking business.

Most recently chief procurement officer of Carnival Corporation, Brown comes to Mars Wrigley with deep experience within the CG industry. She was previously chief procurement officer for Mondelez, Kraft Foods and Clorox and has held procurement roles at Procter & Gamble, Diageo and Gillette.

She’s filling what was previously Mars Wrigley's global VP, commercial role.

Andrew Clarke, Mars Wrigley global president, called the procurement role a critical one for the company to help it act with purpose, reduce its environmental footprint, and improve the lives for those within its supply chains and communities

"Julia's breadth of experience will be invaluable to helping us live our purpose and partner across our value chain to make tangible impact," he added.

Brown praised Mars Wrigley’s leadership in improving farmer livelihoods and origin communities, its packaging design and innovation, and its work to enact science-based strategies to protect the planet,

“I look forward to working with Mars’ highly respected partners and suppliers to drive transformational growth and deliver category impact on a truly global scale,” she noted.
