P&G Reinforces Supply Chain Transformation

5/15/2014
The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has chosen to establish a multi-category distribution center in the city of Union to serve its Midwest customers. This innovative approach is expected to increase efficiencies in P&G's supply chain, putting product closer to retail and population centers as well as major transportation networks. The project will lead to the creation of 800 new jobs through third party customization and logistics providers.

According to company officials, the new P&G facility will be operational in 2015.

"This new distribution center is part of a significant supply chain transformation in North America that will dramatically innovate the way we supply our customers," says Yannis Skoufalos, P&G's global product supply officer. "The Dayton site is ideally situated to both leverage P&G's scale and our new distribution network to respond to customers and our consumers in a way we have never done before."

JobsOhio, the Dayton Development Coalition, Montgomery County, and the City of Union worked closely together to ensure that the company had the required infrastructure in place to support the $89 million, 1 million-square-foot facility.
