Popchips Celebrates Through Ibotta
Popchips, Inc. teamed with shopper incentive app Ibotta this month to distribute coupons in recognition of March 14's designation as "National Potato Chip Day."
From March 7-14, Ibotta users could obtain a coupon redeemable for one free bag of Popchips from any retailer nationally, including Walmart, Target, Kroger and Safeway.
"We partnered with Ibotta to help make sure as many people as possible can celebrate our never fried, but deeply satisfying version of America's number one snack food," Popchips chief marketing officer Marc Seguin said in a media release.
The 10-year-old Popchips brand is distributed through roughly 30,000 retailers in North America and the UK. The company also sells directly through its website, offering free standard shipping on orders greater than $49.
Launched in 2012, Ibotta partners with leading brands and retailers to offer rebates on consumer goods in a variety of categories including packaged goods, consumer electronics and apparel. In addition to receiving the purchase incentives, users earn cash back by scanning receipts to verify their purchases. The app has gained 18 million downloads and enjoys a reported two million-plus monthly users. The program is currently running through 349 retailer partners.
