Report: E-Commerce Impacts In-Store Displays
The rise of e-commerce is influencing the retail marketing strategies of many consumer goods companies, according to the "Shopper Marketing Trends Report 2017."
Asked what impact e-commerce has had on their in-store marketing activity, 46% of respondents to the annual survey said that it has "forced" them to add digital or interactive components to their merchandising displays.
Within that group, roughly 17% said that e-commerce has changed the creative concepts that they use, while 6.6% said that it's even led to a change in the products/SKUs that they merchandise.
The 2017 Trends Report polled 200-plus consumer goods marketing executives in fall 2016. For more information, visit the Path to Purchase Institute.
