Rubbermaid Cooks Up a Balanced Meal

Newell Brands has introduced the Rubbermaid Balance Meal Kit, a new product that taps into the consumer trend toward healthier eating.

The new storage product consists of pre-portioned and color-coded containers designed to hold proper servings of proteins, grains, fruits and vegetables in a convenient carry box to take meals on the go.

Each kit comes with a meal planning guide developed in partnership with Marisa Moore, a registered dietician nutritionist. The guide presents simple tips for properly identifying portion sizes, along with healthy snacking ideas and a four-week meal planner with recipes portioned specifically for the Meal Kit. The recipes can be customized to accommodate specific consumer preferences.

The Rubbermaid Balance Meal Kit is BPA-free and safe for microwaves, dishwashers, and freezers, allowing for daily use. The four pre-portioned containers fit within a carry container that facilitates portability.

"With Rubbermaid Balance, our goal is to make it easier for consumers to choose healthy foods and identify proper portion sizes," said Marta Aebischer, vice president of marketing for Newell's food division. "The four precisely-sized containers match up to the four main food groups, allowing consumers to prepare a healthy, well-balanced meal and bring it on-the-go."
