Target Opening Chobani Cafe This Fall
Target will seek to draw city shoppers in-store with a new yogurt bar. The first Manhattan flexible-format Target store in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood, set to open October, will feature a new in-store Chobani Caf.
Shoppers will find the Mediterranean yogurt bar on the store’s first floor, featuring a menu of culinary creations made from Chobani’s signature Greek yogurt and hand-selected, artisanal ingredients, according to Target's Blog. In addition to both sweet and savory yogurt creations, the caf will offer sandwiches, soups, coffee and desserts, all made with only natural ingredients.
This will be Chobani’s second caf. The first—Chobani SoHo—opened in the heart of New York’s SoHo neighborhood in 2012. For more on Chobani check out CGT's February cover story "Pushing Boundaries With Innovation."
Target's new 45,000-square-foot flexible-format store in lower Manhattan will also feature the retailer's recently launched Who What Wear women’s fashion line and Target's other exclusive home products.
“Through Target’s flexible-format stores, we’re able to build customized stores in urban neighborhoods—like the Tribeca store—to make it easier for guests to shop,” said Anne Stanchfield, vice president, Flexible Formats and Localization, Target. “There are a number of things we’re excited to share with guests who shop the Tribeca store, including the freshness and convenience of Chobani Caf, trendy and affordable apparel and home products and a merchandise presentation that will make it fun and easy to shop.”
