Pensa Systems’ retail inventory system uses computer vision and autonomous, indoor drones to manuever through stores to scan shelves and evaluate product inventory levels. The drones, which were specifically designed for the task, can be programmed to steer clear of approaching shoppers.

A corresponding back-end analytics system turns the video that's collected into data that can inform retailers and brands about shelf conditions, and can then draw conclusions and make predictions about out-of-stocks and other conditions.
