Wholly Guacamole Responds to Customer Demand

7/31/2013
Fresherized Foods, maker of refrigerated guacamole, Wholly Guacamole, announces a new peel and serve tray package of all natural dips with no preservatives. The trays were primarily created in response to customer requests for a more easy-open package. Wholly Guacamole has also experienced increased demands as consumers become more savvy to using avocado and guacamole as a condiment as well as a party dip and appetizer.

"Last year, AC Nielsen found avocado volume sales increased an incredible 34 percent. What that means for us is working to meet the demands of consumers who are changing how much they use avocadoes and the ways in which they enjoy it. So, of course, new packaging is a top priority for us," says Tracey Altman, vice president of marketing at Fresherized Foods. "Wholly Guacamole dips are packaged utilizing High Pressure Processing, a technique pioneered and developed by our brand founder, which allows us to ensure food safety and superior taste. It has taken us a couple of years of testing, but we feel we have perfected this technique in relation to the peel and serve trays, so we are now able to offer the same great product in a package our fans have requested."

The 8-ounce and 16-ounce trays will replace the current 7-ounce and 14-ounce squeeze bag containers, allowing consumers to incorporate more of their favorite Wholly Guacamole products into meals. Available with three top flavor options: Classic, Spicy and Homestyle, the trays will roll out in grocery stores in August. Wholly Guacamole products are all natural, gluten free, with no preservatives and kosher certified.

After a complete rebrand, Wholly Guacamole dip went from the No. 12 branded refrigerated dip in 2007 to the No. 1 branded refrigerated dip, in June 2013 according to AC Nielsen. In addition, the 2013 report shows that the refrigerated guacamole category, as a whole, has a YOY growth of 9.4 percent.
