Dansko Gets Product Lifecycle Management Lift
Shoe manufacturer Dansko is investing in a product lifecycle management (PLM) platform to optimize workflows that can keep up with business growth.
The Pennsylvania-founded company, created in 1990, is known for its clogs. It partnered with Centric Software after struggling to efficiently manage product data due to an expanding portfolio.
VP of sourcing for Dansko, Susan Li, said in a statement that it chose to align with the PLM provider due to design, functionality, matching processes and integration capabilities with existing software.
As it prepared to switch from more traditional approaches to PLM, Li said pre-implementation exercises helped the company examine which steps within existing processes made sense to the overall flow.

The company’s VP of design, Kelsey Jayne, said that by connecting to Adobe Illustrator to update changes in visual documents, the company saved time so it could focus on more design and creative aspects. The platform has also allowed the company to improve product data organization, streamline workflows and capture multiple processing modes from a single location.
Additional benefits include a user-friendly interface and simple search functionality so Dansko’s team members can quickly find the data they’re looking for rather than having to manually sift through spreadsheets.
Dansko plans to expand the partnership by integrating enterprise resource planning functionality next.
"When our systems talk to each other, the information will flow from PLM to ERP, which is going to increase the accuracy, efficiency and reduce duplication of work," said Li.
