LeapFrog Launches New Developer Program

1/15/2013
LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. announces a new program to allow external developers to create interactive games and apps for its award-winning learning platforms. This new program will start with the release of exclusive interactive games from Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education and media company. "Clifford's Rhyme Race" and "The Magic School Bus Dino Shuffle" were developed and produced by Scholastic solely for LeapFrog and are now available for purchase in the "Games" section of the LeapFrog App Center for the kids' learning tablets, LeapPad1 and LeapPad2, and learning video game systems, Leapster Explorer and LeapsterGS.

"We are thrilled to make our base of millions of connected platforms available to the vast number of talented independent content developers and gaming studios around the world," says Greg Ahearn, chief marketing officer at LeapFrog. "Scholastic has been a long time partner and we are excited they took the opportunity to develop new games and apps exclusively for LeapFrog. Working closely with our highly experienced team of educational experts, these truly unique and engaging games are age-appropriate and introduce key skills such as reading, writing, social studies and science. We believe that the combination of education, creativity and great game play from Scholastic and LeapFrog will continue to produce exclusive development projects that provide the best selection of educational entertainment to kids."

The all-new interactive games, "Clifford's Rhyme Race" and "The Magic School Bus Dino Shuffle," are now available in the LeapFrog App Center. The new games join LeapFrog's vast library of learning games, eBooks, videos, music and more that have been developed and approved by LeapFrog's educational experts.
