Reckitt Benckiser Appoints New President

8/1/2013
Reckitt Benckiser (RB), whose portfolio includes iconic brands such as Clearasil, Mucinex, Lysol and Woolite, announces the appointment of Alexander Lacik to the position of President, Reckitt Benckiser North America, effective June 2013. Lacik will report directly to Rob de Groot, Executive Vice President (EVP) of Europe and North America (ENA), and will be a part of the ENA leadership team.

In his new role, Lacik will be responsible for increasing RB's North American market share, creating new innovations in the health, home and hygiene space, and developing RB's Powerbrands. Alexander Lacik is succeeding Frederic Larmuseau, who is taking a new role as EVP for Russia, Middle East and Africa (RUMEA). Lacik previously held the position of Global Category Officer of Home Care and Germ Protection, RB, since December 2010. He began his career at RB in 2004 at the company's Greece headquarters as General Manager and was promoted to Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, RB North America, three years later.

Lacik has built a strong track record at RB in both strategic and operational roles and is a crucial asset to the company's innovation. During his tenure in the U.S., Lacik was instrumental in the acquisition and successful integration of Adams Respiratory Therapeutics, where he helped develop a new organizational setup revolving around multifunctional work teams. Lacik also spearheaded RB's digital capabilities by taking an industry-leading position using online video as a mass communication vehicle. Under Lacik's leadership, Dettol and Lysol, two of RB's Powerbrands, have delivered very strong growth and in-market performance, while preparing the future of the brand with entries into the dish segment.

“The CPG marketplace is rapidly transforming and RB is shifting the way it does business to meet new consumer needs. I am inspired by RB’s ongoing commitment to remain an aggressive innovative frontrunner against its competitors in the North American region," said Lacik. "I look forward to returning to this region to take on a new, exciting role."

RB’s success stems from its unique people and innovative global culture. Lacik, fluent in English, Swedish and Slovak, fits seamlessly into RB’s diverse leadership team. He was born in Czechoslovakia, raised in Sweden and has garnered worldwide work experience. He is married to Maria Lacik and has four children.
