Walmart and P&G Launch 50 Mobile Stores
Saving on those last minute beauty, baby and personal care items just got easier for busy Torontonians with mobile shopping in bus shelters across Toronto. To help Torontonians with their weekly shop, Walmart Canada and Procter & Gamble (P&G) have launched a mobile store allowing Torontonians to shop online with their mobile device and ship items to their home for free.
Located in 50 bus shelters across Toronto, the mobile store, which runs for four weeks, provides a quick and easy way for Torontonians to purchase a variety of items online with Walmart in categories such as baby and beauty.
"Walmart is proud to be a destination for everyday essentials at everyday low prices. We're excited to partner with Procter and Gamble on innovative ways to simplify the shopping experience for busy Canadians," says Simon Rodrigue, vice-president of eCommerce for Walmart Canada. "We know that our customers are increasingly pressed for time and this campaign allows us to help Torontonians shop for essentials on the go, anywhere, at any time. Whether in our stores or online at Walmart.ca, we're committed to delivering a fast and easy shopping experience for our customers."
E-commerce is a key focus area for both business partners and gives Canadian shoppers another way to access the brands they love such as Pantene, CoverGirl, Pampers, Gillette and Tide. Through Walmart.ca, customers who don't typically shop at Walmart stores, can now easily access a vast array of products without having to drive. "P&G is committed to improving the lives of our consumers. Now that our products are available at Walmart.ca, they can have Pantene and other essentials delivered right to their doorstep," says Katie Elder, Brand manager at P&G.
The campaign features posters of popular Procter and Gamble products in categories such baby and beauty, and highlights some of Canada's Best New Products as voted by Canadians. Customers can scan QR-codes from their mobile device and order select items, including diapers, mascara, shampoo and toothpaste in bus shelters across the city. In addition to the items available for purchase through this mobile store, there are currently more than 2,000 P&G items available on Walmart.ca with new items being added regularly.
