Clif Bar Names Rizal Hamdallah Its 1st Chief Innovation Officer
Rizal Hamdallah has joined Clif Bar & Company as its first chief innovation officer.
Most recently global chief innovation officer at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Hamdallah will be tasked with leading Clif Bar’s product development and business models.
He has deep CG roots, also holding roles at such consumer goods companies as Tyson Foods, SC Johnson, Unilever and Nestle. At Ocean Spray, Hamdallah led the innovation and R&D teams to launch such wellness-focused products as the CarryOn CBD beverage. He also played a key role in developing Lighthouse, Ocean Spray’s innovation incubator, and spearheaded Tyson’s own Innovation Lab.
In between his tenure at Sc Johnson and Tyson, Hamdallah founded GetBetty, a digital and tech startup offering on-demand beauty services.
Clirf Bar CEO Sally Grimes, who joined the company from Tyson earlier this year, praised his track record of bold thinking and positive impact. “Under Rizal’s leadership, innovation at Clif Bar will accelerate how we redesign the business of food for health, equity and Earth,” she added.

Hamdallah will report to Grimes.
