How Suppliers Can Get Products on Walmart, QVC & HSN’s Radars
Consumer goods suppliers that want to get their products in front of retailers will have to direct their efforts on highlighting benefits from a virtual standpoint thanks to our perpetual state of social distancing.
In honor of this new reality, QVC U.S. and HSN are putting a new twist on their Big Find international product search. The Big Find, now in its second year, invites entrepreneurs and brands to share their stories across the two retailers’ broadcast, digital and streaming platforms.
Supported by product discovery platform provider RangeMe, The Big Find will accept applications from brands across nine categories: home décor, home innovation, electronics, culinary, apparel, jewelry, accessories, footwear and beauty.
Interested brands can submit their information and video applications through the RangeMe platform through Aug. 19. Select vendors will be invited to pitch their items virtually via videoconference to a panel of QVC and HSN judges in September.
Last year's event brought in more than 650 entries from 12 countries, with more than 65 beauty and fashion brands — including Act & Acre, Alkaglam, Mented Cosmetics, Follain, Have Some Fun Today and Valencia Key — selected to introduce products across QVC and HSN platforms throughout 2020.
"Participating in The Big Find and becoming a part of the QVC and HSN vendor community has been an incredible journey,” said KJ Miller, Mented Cosmetics cofounder. “The platforms have allowed us to share our story with a new set of customers and bring our brand to life in a way we would not be able to achieve through traditional retail channels.”
“The teams at QVC and HSN have guided our way throughout this entire experience, providing us with invaluable feedback and support,” Miller added. “We have already seen strong growth to our business, and we are looking forward to continued success together."
Walmart’s annual Open Call for U.S. manufactured products, now in its seventh year, will also be held virtually. As part of the retailer’s commitment to get more U.S.-manufactured products on its shelves and website, it invites suppliers and manufacturers to apply for a chance to pitch items to its buyers.
It’s once again teaming with product discovery platform provider RangeMe to streamline the submission process. The deadline to apply is Aug. 10, and the virtual pitch event will be held Oct. 1.
