Impossible Foods announced the addition of seasoned supply chain executive Rob Haas as chief supply chain officer, helping the company put a stronger focus on production and distribution, according to a recent company statement. A 30+ year industry veteran, Haas will oversee supply chain operations, including everything from dynamic forecasting to ingredient sourcing.

Haas brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience with Anheuser Busch InBev, Metal Container Corporation, and EverGrain Ingredients. He also has previous experience building a plant-based ingredients startup and leading operations for a medium-sized manufacturing business, according to Haas’s LinkedIn profile.

In addition to Haas's appointment, biotechnology leader Sunil Chandran will oversee Impossible Food’s R&D and innovation departments as chief science officer. Chandran previously spent 17 years with Amyris Inc., helping them bring fermentation-derived ingredients to market.

“Sunil and Rob are exceptional leaders who know how to run critical business functions at scale,” said Peter McGuinness, president and CEO of Impossible Foods. “In addition to the depth and breadth of their expertise, they’re also both genuinely motivated by our mission and want to help us succeed in service of that.”

McGuiness, the former Chobani president and COO, took over as CEO of Impossible Food from founder Pat Brown when he stepped down in April 2022. McGuiness is a previous CGT CMO of the Year Award winner and a Path to Purchase Institute Hall of Fame member.

In addition to that, over the past six months, Impossible Food has put a focus on expanding its leadership team, appointing its first chief demand officer, Sherene Jagla, and its first chief marketing and creative officer, Leslie Sims, who was responsible for the two new national ad campaigns that launched earlier this month.

Noel Clarke was also named senior vice president of international to lead global growth in November 2022.
