Mars Expands Digital Leadership With Anand Shenoy

Over the last few years, Mars has been investing in a digitally savvy leadership team in order to support growing digital innovations and initiatives. The company has continued on this trend, recently naming Anand Shenoy global VP, chief data officer of Mars Snacking.

In the new role, which he took on in September according to LinkedIn, Shenoy is leading all data-related initiatives, overseeing analytics, platforms, and AI enablement for the company’s snacking business. Key areas of focus include data and analytics, technology platforms, digital transformation, enterprise data strategy, AI and people management. 

Shenoy’s background includes several executive-level data and analytics roles, including at Intel, where he was senior director and global head of the corporate data office. There he led enterprise data and analytics strategy, architecture, and governance capabilities to improve business outcomes.

Prior to Intel, he held leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies and consulting firms such as Deloitte and Ernst & Young, focusing on API integrations strategy, enterprise information management, and multiple end-to-end ERP and information management business transformation initiatives.

Shenoy’s hiring follows several relevant leadership moves at Mars, including Najoh Tita-Reid as chief brand and experience officer of the company’s petcare business, a newly created role. Also within petcare, Christoph Heyn is taking on the new role of chief digital officer starting in November.

  • Christoph Heyn

    Heyn currently serves as global VP of digital at Ikea and, in this newly-created role, will scale and define the brand’s digital products and lead the development of digital capabilities. Heyns will report to Leonid Sudakov, president of growth, digital, and platforms.

  • Najoh Tita-Reid

    Tita-Reid brings experience across tech and digital marketing, having previously served as chief marketing officer of Logitech, overseeing DTC and e-commerce, and marketing transformation. She will report to Leonid Sudakov, president of growth, digital and platforms at Mars Petcare.

In 2022, Mars Petcare appointed Alejandro (Alex) Cedeno to the role of senior vice president of research and development (R&D) for its North America arm. Cedeno was hired to create and drive global R&D strategies, leveraging breakthrough science and technology.

In 2021, Mars Inc. expanded its Pet Nutrition North America leadership team with two digital hires: Jessica Hauff as general manager of e-commerce at Mars Petcare, a new role at the time, and Travis Reaves as VP, strategy and growth transformation.

Ruben Cejudo also joined Mars Petcare as VP of North American supply chain, focused on end-to-end solutions.

The leadership moves are a testament to the company’s commitment to bolstering its digital innovation strategy, which has recently included interactive digital ads for its Skittles brand and online-powered expedited fulfillment
